The 2011 Nissan Frontier is a compact pickup truck that’s offered in an extended cab (King Cab in Nissan-speak) with a pair of flip-down seats in back, and a crew cab with a full 60/40-split-folding three-person bench. A 6-foot cargo bed is standard on King Cab models, while Crew Cab buyers have a choice of a standard 5-foot bed or an optional 6-foot version.
For 2011 the trim level designations have changed. Now the base S model is complemented by the midrange SV, off-road-oriented PRO-4X and the top-of-the-line SL (crew cab only).
The 2011 Nissan Fronier is available in either a rear-wheel (4×2) or four-wheel drive configuration, with two body styles – extended (King) Cab and Crew Cab. It is offered in five trim levels: S, SV-I4, SV, the PRO-4X off-road model and the luxurious SL.
Available engines include a 152-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder (S, SV-I4), mated to either a five-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission, and a 261-hp 4.0-liter V6 (SV, PRO-4X and SL), paired with either a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission. The four-cylinder SE trim level adds 16-inch wheels, a chrome front bumper, a sliding rear window, air-conditioning and a tilting steering wheel.
Every 2011 Nissan Frontier comes standard with antilock disc brakes, stability control, front-seat side airbags and side curtain airbags. Also, V6 models have a brake-activated limited-slip differential. As with virtually all pickups, the 2011 Nissan Frontier’s interior is a compromise between utility and comfort. King Cab models feature reverse-opening rear doors that offer access to a pair of fold-up jump seats behind the front buckets
